Conejo Road Custom Home, Santa Barbara CA

The original house was burnt down during the Santa Barbara Tea Fire of 2008.  None of the existing structure could be reused and the design team had to start from scratch.  The project rested on a steep hillside.  To provide an understory we designed a raised floor with CMU stem walls supported on concrete grade beams and caissons.

The residence lent itself to a contemporary style with flat roof, no eaves, clean lines and plaster finish.  It was also listed on the ArchitecTours 2012 sponsored by the Santa Barbara AIA.
